Once the world cup is over and players are fatigued and coming back from the middle east in december and thrown straight back into league action, the likes of City and Liverpool will hit their straps and string a ton of wins together.

Christmas and New Year has typically been where the big sides have run away with it (especially City, just quietly winning 12 games in a row), so I can’t see the World Cup doing them any favours. Disruption doesn’t help. Like a preseason, it could take them a while to get going. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting this because I have any notions that United will catch, but It’s actually refreshing to see teams dropping points and nice to think someone might not get 100 £#%&!ing points again.
