Everywhere is reporting that it's terms and a medical then he's United's, but another club, thought to be Arsenal, has had a bid accepted.
So, does he come up to OT, do the tour, sort out wages and have a medical before going to Arsenal? If so, do they not have the advantage of just offering him more money than us? Also, when will we know one way or the other? United should've kept schtum until he was wearing the shirt. |

Manchester United and Arsenal have both had offers accepted by Cardiff City for Welsh teenage sensation Aaron Ramsey.
United announced they have agreed a fee, believed to be £5m-£6m, for the 17-year-old, subject to him passing a medical and agreeing personal terms. The BBC understands Arsenal are the other club to have had their offer accepted from three formal bids lodged. But Cardiff insist no deal has yet been struck and the midfielder will ultimately decide his destination. AARON RAMSEY Born: December 26, 1990 in Caerphilly Position: Midfielder Club: Cardiff City (22 games, 2 goals) Height: 5ft 10ins Weight: 12st Did you know?: Ramsey was an excellent rugby player and played on the wing for Caerphilly Cardiff striker Steve Thompson on "Rambo": We call him Marge Simpson because his hair is a proper thatch - and his first car is a luminous, lime green Ford Fiesta with a black and white checkerboard roof. If he goes to the Premier League, the car will have to go! A statement on United's official website said: "Manchester United is delighted to announce it has agreed terms with Cardiff City for the transfer of Aaron Ramsey subject to terms being agreed and the player passing a medical." But a statement from FA Cup finalists Cardiff said: "We can confirm that on 3 June the club has received formal bids from three top Premier League teams for Aaron Ramsey. "And Aaron has been given permission to speak to two of these teams. "One of these teams is Manchester United though at this stage we can confirm that no deal has been done and the player has not yet agreed terms." Cardiff would prefer to sell Ramsey to the European champions because as part of their deal, Sir Alex Ferguson would loan the player known as "Rambo" back to The Bluebirds to gain vital first-team experience. Ferguson has kept a close eye on the young prodigy since Ramsey, the most wanted man outside the Premier League, broke into the Cardiff first-team this season. Cardiff boss Dave Jones and chairman Peter Ridsdale met Ferguson when Cardiff's management team travelled to Barcelona in April before United's Champions League semi-final. Any Ramsey signing would be the second deal struck between the two clubs this summer when Cardiff signed United's reserve team goalkeeper Tom Heaton on a season-long loan. Uncapped Ramsey was included in John Toshack's full Wales squad for last week's friendly double-header against Iceland and The Netherlands but did not feature. Ramsey has played just 22 games for Championship side Cardiff but has been touted as Ryan Giggs' heir apparent in the Wales side and the Caerphilly-born Welsh speaker could follow his idol and fellow countryman at Old Trafford. Speaking on behalf of the national set-up Wales assistant manager Dean Saunders said they would prefer any deal for Ramsey to include the option of him being loaned back to Cardiff for next season. Wales youth guru Brian Flynn has hailed Ramsey as "sensational." Saunders said this would allow the teenager to at least play some games rather than just warm the bench at his new Premier League home where he would lose fitness and valuable footballing experience. Flynn told BBC Sport last week: "He has everything - temperament, attitude, ability and work-ethic - to be a top Premier League and international player for the next 15 years. "No wonder Sir Alex Ferguson likes the look of him, he's a special talent." Cardiff have a long-standing debt of approximately £31m and Ridsdale has admitted all of his stars, including Ramsey and star midfielder Joe Ledley, are available "at the right price." |
