Im not apologising though , as the money for the players going out came from somewhere as they werent all academy graduates

i.e their owner who is one of the richest according to same radio 5 geezer

outlay isn't irrelevant. having the ability to bring in large numbers of players, give them a go and move them on isn't something all clubs can do. they have to operate on a one-in, one-out basis. not to mention wage costs etc.

It doesn't matter how rich the owner is. He isn't a 'sugar daddy' unless he's paying for transfer fees and wages with HIS OWN MONEY. Spurs do not have one of those. Only Chelsea and City do. Spurs have had to sell players, ofttimes their best players (Berbs, Keane, Defoe).
