That defence will be englands undoing, dodgy keeper syndrome, rio and terry are not as reliable as they once were, right back is a massive problem too.

Quarters at best, but won't be surprised if they exit in the 2nd round.

Tin hat on, but if David James plays as he has when healthy for the last three seasons, he'll be more than good enough.

Same problems that we usually have.

Quarter finals, decent opposition, can't keep the ball.

That really is our biggest failure. We'll come up against a team who are cute with the ball who will frustrate us, resulting in one of ours being sent off.

Agreed. The thing to remember is that apart from Brazil, Italy, Spain, France, and Germany, none of the other contenders have a top class keeper.

I think England will do ok. Quarters finals, possibly semis. There aren't many good international teams about, so this can only work in their favour.

Not really a contender IMO and Akinfeev is nothing special. A level beneath the class of Lloris et al.

Usual stuff. Somebody like Mexico will expose our shortcomings at CONTROLLING A FOOTBALL. We'll beat them, and the media will ignore it all, claiming we're about to win it. then we'll come up against a really good side like France or Turkey and get battered. rinse and repeat. Howard Wilkinson and Trevor Brooking were right 10 years ago and they're still right, but nobody cares to listen.

without rooney i don't think they've got much of a chance, quarter finals at best.
