Default Has This Season Been a Failure?

SAF said a few years ago that winning the League Cup and finishing 2nd in the league is a good season. Do you feel we've had a good season? I know this thread might be a bit of a knee jerk and if I asked the same question in a months time I'd probably get a different answer. Anywho here's the poll.

my expectations were low pre season - we could have won the CL and PL but you can't win the £#%&!ers every year - as Ferie said in the papers, one bad week £#%&!ed it.

Not a vintage PL.

No.

Just the kind of season you get from time to time when things don't quite go our way, but they do go someone elses, similar to 1995 for me.

When compared to the last 2 seasons we didn't win the league it is easy to see this one is far from a failure.

One bad week, or one bad ref decision?
or a bad signing?
or a list of bad injuries?

We can look at a lot of scapegoats, or accept winning one trophy, beating the local loudmouths 3 times, coming second and just 1 point behind, and going out on away goals as being a pretty OK season. 18 other teams in the league would want to be where United are now.

if anything burnley, fulham, blackburn - away, and chelsea at home cost us.

places where we would fully expect to get some sort of result. we didn't.

It has really when you look back on all the if onlys, but before the season started I expected United to be 4th at a push, and after losing to burnley I had even lower expectations.

I feel sorry for Rooney more than anyone after effectively carrying the goalscoring burden for most of the season only to get injured at the worst possible time. Seeing that disgusting shithouse drogba scab the golden boot must have just rubbed it in

People look at Burnley result, the two chelsea's result for where it could of been won or lost.

But surely over christmas at fulham is where we really hit on a low. 27 defenders out injured and we had a weak scot and a fanny which doesnt tackle at centre back. Although Rooney being injured possibly had the worst effect, but looking at our goals against. Worst for years.

Are you not allowed to question whether or not it's been a good season? Why edit the title when you could have just done a RAWK and deleted or locked the thread? Can we have a list of things we can and can't start threads about please? I wouldn't want to fall foul of the thread police again.

Was it really you? I spent £#%&!ing hours yesterday trying to sort a spreadsheet out to make your Fredcasts easier to manage. I'm one formula away from having an all singing, all dancing spreadsheet that takes a couple of minutes to do. I'm deeply upset. Upset, hurt and angry.

Oh, I could never stay mad at you. Big hug.

Does it not say edited by Fatboy Shrek?

In answer to your question. Yes, it's been a bit of a failure (The season, not the thread). We'll be back mind.

Yes it does, hadn't noticed that.

Oh well, what the formula for if team A and team B scores are both correct, gives 1 point?

Team A v Team B

If you predict number of goals correct by Team A, you get 1 point.
If you predict number of goals correct by Team B, you get 1 point.
If you get the result right you get 1 point.
If you get all three right you get 1 point.

Double points for the fixture in bold.

1 point if you guess the scorer correct.

Yeah I know, I wanted the excel formula but I've done it now. I just need to tidy it up and I'll send it over so you can let me know if you need any changes. I'll set it up so you can change the rules should you want to.
