Costs last year were sky high - the absolutely wrong time to build a stadium. It’s settled down this year and it’s likely to get more competitive as the year goes on.
Land costs in Merseyside are currently about half that of Trafford park but it wouldn’t make a material difference to the costs. £1.2m an acre in TP and about £600k per acre at the docks. United bought the land years ago so it won’t stand them at those kind of levels anyway.
Basically, the £2b is utter bullshit unless they’re making it out of gold.
