I’m sure Donny would jump at the chance to play inside right in a three behind the main striker. If Mata can play there so can he.

No he wasn’t. He’s not the finished article by any stretch, but he’s on a good trajectory and could end up being some player. Gave the ball away a few times and tried a few more expansive passes - the one into Rashford was excellent - but his defensive work way overshadowed any other weaknesses.

It’s easy to say now in hindsight, but this is a decent Everton side. How much have we heard this season about the impact of Allan, Rodriguez and Dacoure, but we owned the middle of the park and restricted them to very little.

fantastic team performance yesterday....worked extremely hard, pressed well as a group(at times) but more importantly showed great response after going down 1 nil on a route one long hoof ball.

Mata was really the only weak link in the lineup yesterday. he's just too slow and off the pace when we have the ball and he doesn't press very well as the opposite winger.

Bruno was obviously the star of the show but i think overall the midfield won the game for us as those three were brilliant once again as a unit.
