looked quite a high, clean break. so less complicated as a smashed up ankle or foot.

I'd say it'll be a year before he's fully back 100% though.

As the length of time he'll be injured is increasing with each post, I'll take it to 18 months.

All down to how clean the break is, which bones have been broke and the severity of the dislocation. Same injury as me and it's a bit of a £#%&!er it's his standing leg tbh as he is so right footed, the biggest hurdle he'll face is getting his confidence back.
