Actually Carvajal did

Missing the point though
If you’re going to buy a team then it’s best to buy before they hit their peak to give time for them to slowly grow and become a team

That Madrid side wasn’t great to begin with but with experience and time to develop as players and as a team they did

Jose had a good age profile in his initial signings for us but a lot of his recent transfers or transfer targets have been players near 30

They also had a solid side when these players were bought full of experienced pros, that then allowed the new younger signings time to settle.

Like that post suggest it’s about balance and at the moment a couple of experienced pros wouldn’t hurt us one bit. We’ve already got a load of young promising players that in truth have failed to live up to expectations under more than one manager, So by adding a couple of experienced players who would hopefully add consistency and leadership to the squad it allows the younger players time to fulfill their potential and eventually replace the experienced players, similar to how Madrid have done it.

What happened to never doing business with Spurs again after Berbatov?

Will you stop making excuses if we sign that pair? Would take Mou's spending to close to £500 million in just over 2 years. Not been backed though.

Now to be fair, if Mou lasts the season, will folk stop predicting that he’ll self destruct?

Might take a 4th season, more players out the door... more ‘spending’.... more Mou.

If he lasts season I would revise the meltdown prediction.

If he's at united this time next season, it will be his longest time as manager of any club.

If he gets that it will be par. He'll match the likes of Klopp. Still behind Guardiola spend wise.

If he doesn't get those players it will be time for you and your ilk to admit he hasn't been backed pal!

So, 2 months on and 300 posts later from your OP we're in exactly the same position?

£200million spent on 3 midfielders, £60 million on centre halves, £75million on a striker, allowed to swap a player he signed for Alexis Sanchez and pay him £400k a week. It's no wonder we're still playing shit football when he's operating on such a shoestring. We own the two most expensive players in English football but owners that were less tight would let us round out the top five with an honest clogger from Leicester and a couple of players approaching 30.

Not surprising given no manager goes past 3 years at Chelsea or Madrid. The rest he left to take a step up, because he was successful.

Usually ignored for some reason. What should be a point in his favour is used as a criticism.
