Standard of defending in Spain is horrible, makes for entertaining viewing though. Madrid are so open for the counter attack it is untrue. How did Cannovara win World player of the Year? Must have been a bloody awful year in the football world.

Ruud is still the best box striker around, doing nothing outside it, but put the ball in the right area and he will score goals aplenty.

we were after him at the same time as madrid, he's very good going forward but not the best defending.

think he's missed a large part of the season with injury though?

Look out for the Argie full back in the game afterwards. Takes a mean penalty and we were (or are) scouting him according to reports.

Cannavaro hasn't been great, but the centre backs have been ridiculously exposed. The problem for Madrid is that the fullbacks are both vacating their zones without a defensive midfielder plugging the holes.
