I don't know why everyone is moaning about him not having some of the class of 92, he's bringing an assistant manager, goalkeeping coach a physio and a video analysis person. Surely there's room for Giggs and Scholes to coach the first team as part of their team? Butt managing the kids.

Thing is, van Gaal is very much a training ground manager.

Unlike Fergie, he's out there every day taking the sessions. It reduces the need for an excess of coaches. I think Moyes possibly felt the same. He had his assistant and a couple of his own coaches. Didn't feel he needed anyone else, which is possibly why Giggs felt alienated.

Similar thing happening at Madrid this year with Zidane. Ancelotti and his assistant do the sessions. Zidane just hangs around watching
