Fabianski isn't having the greatest of times @ Arsenal, should have done much better

Now let's see what the Vela's of this world are made of

almunia & fabiański

beggars belief that arsenal didn't sort that position out in the summer by bringing in some steady experienced type. they could surely have picked up given from city, he'd have been an enormous improvement on what they have.

They went all in for Schwarzer and Hughes blanked them. I think Given expected to be able to get the shirt over Joe Hart - no hope of that now.

Why on earth would city sell given to arsenal?

Schwarzer should have been bought, or the lad at Bolton.

wasn't mancini basically saying straight out that hart was the no 1 during the window? something like 'we'd like given to stay but we'll understand if he wants to go'?

He was. I'm only speculating, but from some of Shay's comments from the same time, he seemed to think he'd be given a chance in the Europa League games, and maybe thought he could win back the shirt that way. Then of course he was left out of the side even in those games.

perhaps. whatever the reason, it was a huge £#%&! up on arsenal's part that they didn't get somebody in, if only a competent van der gouw type back up.

I know it's City, but that pissed me off a bit. Mancini saying he could leave, then not letting him leave. That didn't so much annoy me as Mancini's comments this week saying Shay could go in January

I thought he was £#%&!ed, like nearly dead £#%&!ed, after a scooter crash or something the other month. Was shocked when I say him playing.

And Yep, I agree. Never been a fan of Cuducini tbh, Shay Given syndrome with him, for me, makes what should be easy saves look like great saves, and makes saveable shots and crosses look like great goals.
