We have no money. We know it and say so.

Fergie knows it and doesn't speak about it... it must tear him up inside to see the club he loves being bled to death by those leeches.

Im sure the £23m he has in the bank plus the £MEGAk a week he's earning soften the blow though.

Why wouldnt they use the internet in 2010 is a better question.

Some people go out of their way to find a reason to moan. Life must suck like that.

Just be frickin' cool like me if you want.

anyone suprised??

this is the same management team that found no value in the market, spent £31m on berbatov, 17m on valencia and didn't think tevez was worth £25.5m.

here is a little interesting face.
the money spent on diouf and that midget mexican...is more than sunderland spent on darren bent.
'no value'...but then again...would a blind man find wally in a 'where's wally' book?

I've asked the question.

Whilst googling for a suitable pic to do the word spanner justice I stumbled across an article which had Utd paying 3million for Obertan. I acually thought it was double that!

What an exciting time that was.

Here's the whole interview where he mentioned it.

ALEX FERGUSON is already planning for a future without Rio Ferdinand and Wes Brown at Manchester United and has earmarked Ireland’s defender John O’Shea as a potential future leader of the club.

The United manager also revealed that the trio of Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville will all stay on at Old Trafford in a coaching capacity once their playing days are over.

He went on to shrug off any concerns about the level of United’s debt, insisting that the sporting health of the club was in good shape in spite of fans’ protracted protests against the Glazer family which owns the club.

Ferguson’s words of praise for O’Shea, who missed much of last season through injury, will come as great encouragement to the versatile Irish defender.

"In terms of personality, Patrice Evra is a powerful force as a leader of the dressing-room," he told L’Equipe’s weekend magazine.

"But if we look at the home-grown players, then I think of John O’Shea and Darren Fletcher. They grew up at this club."

The duo are in prime position to replace the old guard of Scholes, Giggs and Neville, who have been part of the side for over 15 years. All three have had their contracts extended by one more season.

"They are the living proof for young players that the United system allows players to succeed," Ferguson explained. "When they stop playing, they will stay (at United). All three of them are taking their coaching diplomas. I don’t think the club will pass up that much experience."

Ferguson also praised Inter Milan’s Champions League-winning coach Jose Mourinho, and claimed that his Chelsea side was a tougher proposition than the current team which just pipped United to the Premier League title on the last day of the season.

"The Chelsea of today doesn’t have the unshakeable belief of Mourinho’s team, even though they won the title."

But the Scottish boss is determined to wrest back the league title from the west Londoners next season, and has already bought Chris Smalling (£10m) and Javier Hernandez (£6m) with that in mind.

"I am always thinking one or two seasons ahead," he continued.

"I anticipate over time the departures of the souls of the club, and the likes of Rio Ferdinand and Wes Brown, who are over 30. Nemanja Vidic has had some physical problems.

"Chris Smalling has huge potential as a centre-half, and he’s only 20. As for Mame Biram Diouf, you have to watch hundreds of strikers before you find one who can win matches for you and so save you money. When you find him, you sign him.

"As for Hernandez, we were tipped off. We did some research on the Internet, watched some Chivas games in Mexico. Then I sent two scouts who spent three weeks in Mexico to check out the boy’s entourage, his lifestyle and his family."

Ferguson claimed that the protests against the Glazers, who have saddled United with debts of over £700m, did not worry him and were just a reflection of modern society.

"Protesting has become a reflex action these days," he said. "There are fans protesting against the Glazers, which doesn’t bother me because that doesn’t interfere with the team and in sporting terms. In any case, I like to see these yellow and green scarves.

"The fans love their club and they are worried. I don’t share their worry."
