Thumbs up Re: Still brings a tear to my eye.

Left for Moscow at midnight on the Wednesday, was home 9am the following Thursday. Best night of my life when we won it, amazing feeling. Nothing beats winning the European Cup, it's the pinacle. The noise when Edwin made that save...it'll stay with me forever

I'll be gutted watching it tonight, got quite used to ending the season with a European Cup final

I celebrated by spending the day at work with half a dozen people who gave not one £#%&!.. hell of a way to come down

But the memory of that win

I went to Riga the following weekend and there were quite a few Reds still on the way back

Quality

As a side note, even though Chelsea had a lot of fans inside the ground, I didn't see any in Moscow. Well done Roman

Great turn out from Utd tbf

I thought so. Being quite an expensive trip, not to mention a less then ideal location, seemed to deter most of the dick heads in our support. I think every 'Top Red' I know was there - meeting up in this tiny bar and swapping stories about how we'd all got there was fantastic, felt like a real adventure

Atmosphere at the game was outstanding too. When Ronnie scored...£#%&!ing hell, that was intense!

I remember hearing one story about a fella who couldn't get flight, so flew to Beijing then got the trans Siberian railway to Moscow Must be an urban myth?

Met a group of five United fans in Rome the following year who all chipped in £40 to buy a second hand Ford Escort. Drove it there and planned to drive it back, then scrap it

It was brilliant. And you're right re: the #@&%! element. Didn't really see any knocking around.

I still smile when I think about the whole trip. I didn't sleep until Saturday, almost 4 whole days awake

I was absolutely exhausted by the time the penalties came around.

Ill never ever forget that night as long as I live, Ronaldos goal and VDS's save. Me and my mate were all over the row behind us almost crowd surfing, it was £#%&!ing unreal. Never felt a rush like it when we went one up! The £#%&!ing noise

1.8K well spent. FFS was in the country 36 hours or something. Didnt like the city for a final if honest.

Had a look at the date of the game - huge number of threads - don't think there was just the one in those days.

Progress.

champs league = shithouse of a competition
we'd be on 19 if is wasn't for that turd of a midweek sideshow

edit to add
any comp that relies on pen shoot outs to sometimes decide them is inferior to ones that don't
