Wonder how long it will take the fawning press to turn on him when/if he gets the job?

Well, it'll be instant.

We wouldn't have it any other way

Exactly. The thought of @#%&!s like Brian Woolnough cosying up to a Utd manager is rather sickening

Maureen would at least £50-£60 million, nett, to spend. Is anybody seriously suggesting he's going to get that? This is pie in the sky.

Would love the special one as long as he doesn't fill our team with Portugese.

on what are you basing this?

He hasn't spent anywhere close to that either at porto or at inter.

Supposedly Fergie has 60 Million to spend in the summer... 80 mill ronaldo money less 20 mill for Smalling.

Does anyone really think fergie will retire this summer?

The only reason I think he would is because both the club and fergie have designs on mourinho to pass the baton to. The noises he's making from Italy suggest he's had enough and I think the club may feel it's a "now or never" type scenario....as Liverpool will probably be looking to get a new manager over the summer as well.

Jose In, Fergie remains on 'board' would be what I would like to see. I'd make Fergie 'Director of Football' and Jose First Team Manager for a season or two..

What I think will happen is the great one stays on board until we get 19 (if we don't do it this year), or he'll quit with Giggs, Nev and The Ginge next summer.

We'll know soon enough.

Jose's expected to leave Inter during the summer. If he does, and - presumably - goes to a different club, there's obviously nothing behind it. But if he stays at Inter, which would be a surprise, then I can see it heppening. Won't be this summer, though.

It's that reason I reckon it might happen.

He'll never quit. He said in his book that he didn't want to end up like Jock Stein but he's doing nothing to suggest he won't.

I'd have Mourinho but they'll have to drag Ferguson away.

I think he (Jose) may end up at Madrid next season, which is always a short term appointment anyway

If so, would we still go for him?

Short spells at Porto, Chelsea, Inter (presumably) etc.
