Default Keane's dressing room alienation has stifled his managerial career

Quote:
When one player questioned his style of management in public, he fined him heavily straight away. When another showed his disgust at not being included in a practice game, he put him up against the wall in his office and challenged him. "Go on son, be the first to take me on.

During one half-time break when the team was trailing 3-0, his decision to sit arms-folded in a chair in total silence contributed nothing to the chance of an improved second-half performance.

Still gutted over the way he left United.

Then again, being Roy, it was never gonna be all smiles.

Agreed.

Keane never gave the impression he acknowledged this notion, and has paid the ultimate price as a result.
He's been killed?

Would make a better assistant, the friendly arm round the shoulder that sort of thing.

Not cut out for management unless he changes drastically.

He has no interest in youth development, and no grasp on man-management or how to get the best out of sensitive souls.

Love him as a player, I've met him and he's a decent guy, love his views on things, but as a manager he has a long way to go.
He has to be far more sympathetic as a manager because you can't have a team full of nutcases who thrive off the atmosphere he creates.

Keane needs a "good cop" type assistant manager who is respected within the game. Whether anyone would work with him is another matter.

I believe it is wrong to say he will struggle to find work again. After all, this is a business in which Steve Staunton can get offered roles, so you would assume he has little to fear there

I think Keane should knock the managerial stuff on the head, be a pundit - he'd be magnificent. Pay might be 10 times less, but so is the stress & he has enough cash already you'd imagine.
