Yes, we know that Smith is a full international, is English, is a proven Premiership player and has CL experience

As you say, Rossi is a relative unknown

Not sure you've got a leg to stand on here.

Oh and stop mixing the threads up.

Like being a full England international is any guide to quality. He's a proven premiership player all right, proven £#%&!ing useless.

I know he gave his all etc, etc, but the lad just isn't good enough, never was, never will be.

I'm just saying - those players with those credentials usually go for more than unproven young players.

He'll do alright for the geordies

It will be nearly as bad as when Nicky Butt went if this happens.

Surely we need another striker to replace him. We needed Tevez even with Smith in the squad so now we need someone else.

So at the moment we have

Rooney
Saha
Solskjaer...

...and dare i say Dong Fangzhuo

Saha is the only proven out and out striker we have.

Even if you add Tevez to that list you have only three strikers you can really rely on to score goals when fit.

Out: Smith, Saha, Solskjaer (gulp), Park, JOS

In: Anelka, Tevez

Job done.

I'm sure the other striker, Anelka or not, would be here by now if he was coming.

Tevez will be the end of our spending.

Unless Utd actually swap Heinze in a player plus cash deal.

Can't see it myself but you never know...

We'll probably go after Berbatov again next season.

I dont think theres any chance we'll be signing another striker aswell as Tevez. We'll probably wait till January, or next summer.

It's £#%&!ing frustrating, we always seem to go into the season clearly 1-2 players short of having a squad that can challenge for the lot.

In fact the only time we weren't short, we won the £#%&!ing lot.

But i don't think Fergie was expecting Smith or Rossi to leave. Now one has and the other looks about to he might feel his hand is being forced. But IMO we need another out and out striker. Not sure about Anelka but don't ask me who!
