Im sure he was good one v one at Everton. Remember him absolutely burying a few.

Hes missed 5 or 6 for us already, seems to hit them straight at the keeper.

he really wasn't. he hasn't suddenly changed into a different player. he scored plenty, but he missed loads and bundled a few in after initially £#%&!ing up too. he can afford to miss some if he is getting loads of chances, but he's never been clinical feeding on scraps.

The difference is probably that you are now watching full games of him at United and noticing the misses as opposed to just watching a few minutes of highlights of him scoring for Everton.

One miss will stand out in a game where £#%&! all else happens.

Same at Anfield. Same at Stamford bridge (Rashford). We had all this under LVG. The pressure to score increases when you know in the back of your mind it might be your only chance.

He missed one against Newcastle at 0-0 too. But because we created several chances - as we should in a game like that- he finishes up with a goal, an assist an all round good game.

Disagree purely on the basis he was worth that to them. His departure has hurt them hugely.

But this is the exact mark of a mediocre player, same as it is with Zlatan and the same as it was with Beebatov.

Resembled a Sunday league player at times last night. That overhead attempt

He'll get his groove back but needs to keep it very simple. Like stay in one spot simple

Is it?

How many of our great strikers down the years have been a 'One chance, one goal' kind of striker?

Zlatan is a lot of things. Mediocre isn't one of them.

ermmm

A lot of them

Rooney
Ruud
Ronaldo
RVP
Cole
Yorke

You’d have bet on any of them putting away the chances he gets...

He isn’t an exciting striker...

Andy Cole had a reputation for 'needs five chances to score'. Prolific, Yes, but not someone you would bank on scoring.

All the strikers listed above would feel confident of getting two or three chances per game. Not one.

If we're creating one chance per game for our £75m striker, that's the problem.

He is not exciting, no.

i think started by Hansen and it was %@#$&!s. The difference between the strikers listed by bunks (surprised he missed Eric off) is that when the chips were down, they were capable of creating their own chances.

It wasn’t Hansen, it was that God bothering £#%&!ing weirdo, Hoddle.

And I think it was whilst he was England manager.

Created their own chances?

So now we're blaming him for now only missing the one chance he has, but not creating his own?

He's not that kind of striker. He needs service.

Again, if we're creating one chance per game for him, then that's the problem.

Oh, and a 24 year old Andy Cole was missing crucial chances in 1995 that ultimately cost us the league. He turned out fine.
