Rumour has it they defended this guy, who ended up with a year ban from horse fields and only made to pay for the nags dental repairs. Not bad.

Different charges therefore different sentences.

Hoping one of our legal lads can explain why the Utd lads were charged with affray but the vermin were charged with 'public order offences' according to the article.

Shocking.

Definitely poorly advised by their lawyers too. in fact, they shouldn't deal with any football related incidents again, the useless bastards
How do you work that out?

What do you think a lawyer can do for someone who is on cctv identifiably throwing punches during an affray at an internationally televised football match? What advice can they possibly give other than get full credit for an early guilty plea and make it easy on yourself when you inevitably get sent to prison?

Just basing it on the sentences both sets of fans received. Can't understand how the scousers more or less got away with it. 3 of them weren't even charged.
Soz for upsetting you and the lawyers union pal. Don't want beef etc

They went to prison too

Like it or not unfurling a banner and acting the arse isn't viewed as harshly in law as punching someone for unfurling a banner and acting the arse. When viewed dispassionately it doesn't automatically follow that you must run over to the person holding the banner and punch them. Ergo it's more serious and attracts a higher sentence. It's really quite simple.

Anyway good to know you don't want beef. Very sensible big fella.

If you'd have taken the deal like I advised you wouldn't be barred from mainland Britain or be on the register. Think on.

Hiring you instead of a decent brief is great value.

Just reverse every piece of advice and voila, a top notch legal strategy.

this.

easy to get polarised around football and see the scousers stunt as provocation, but you can't go around throwing punchings/kicking £#%&! out of people in such a situation. what the £#%&! could these lad's legal team do? they were caught bang to rights by the sound of it...

The lesson here is that if you're ever in the situation the United fans were in then make sure you kick the @#%&!s to death.

In for a penny in for a pound.

You should be able too.

I would expect the same thing to happen if it was the other way around.

Instead we get Gerrard and his pals @#%&!ting a lone DJ and the @#%&! walks free.

The law IS an ass.
