Martial: Football’s newest fraud?

There is a new obsession in the wider football media. A craze more baffling than the demand for official club Twitter accounts to ‘announce’ a particular signing. A fad stranger than claiming to work for Forest Echo News. A trend more curious than polls without an Arsenal option included.


Pep Guardiola is one of the many individuals to have already fallen foul of it. On Wednesday, Anthony Martial joined him.


‘Fraud’ cried much of the watching public. Some went for ‘overrated’. Others went for ‘weak’, or variations thereof. Plenty went for a good old-fashioned ‘$#*!e’.

He's been hating Martial for some time. Posted this shit because he agrees with it.

Spurs lads not having a particularly good euros so needs to lash out.

He wasn't even that bad ffs, no worse than the rest of them on the evening.

Most complaints stem from him not hitting that half chance first time, when the ball was a yard behind him and he had to take a touch to get it in front of him.

He seems to be getting off lightly IMO. Been every bit as bad as Sterling so far.

Not sure which is the biggest out of those two tbh. Evra has been pretty shite in both their games. I do miss him tbf, but not for footballing reasons.

He's played 45 minutes. Sterling has started both games. Martials distribution with his left leg (he's playing on the left) wasn't good but guess what he's right footed. Are you a blue you?
