The same was true of Anderson, who stomped around his old ground with a rousing fearlessness. Porto's midfield triumvarate of Raul Meireles, Fernando and Lucho had dominated Michael Carrick and Paul Scholes to an embarrassing degree for much of the first leg, but Anderson fronted them up and ran the first half. Crucially, he got in the face of the holding midfielder Fernando, who was unable to start Porto's attacking moves as he had at Old Trafford.
nft.

so similar tactics to what all the other top teams use in Europe then

especially Essien on Gerrard at Anfield

Anderson was very good as we all know he can be for over an hour

as an aside, we were very lucky that Lucho limped off

True, although his replacement, Mariano, was a bit of a problem in the second half. Got past Evra way too easily to set up that chance for Lisandro Lopez with about five minutes to go.

Evra is a big worry

Don't want to expand, cus it's too depressing

suffice to say he isn't scaring anybody much with his attacking and is just getting picked off

This may be harsh, but:

Clapped off by the home crowd, too.

Without question, which is why Evra shouldn't be getting skinned by him. He did well against United, considering he is a bit of a whipping boy for the Porto fans.

it was like he was playing against us at times.

i watched him closely and he had a stinker. a very poor performance imo. worse that most of john o sheas. gave away needless freekicks and was just crap.

Wherever he goes the fans hate him. It's not good to be Mariano.
