Indeed. Pure propaganda to help support their narrative and save face. By mentioning Chelsea they imply Sanchez has not committed to anyone and his signature is still up for grabs but they’re deciding not to get involved. It’s blatantly obvious he’s committed to united, which is why they’re withdrawing with such a face saving exercise.

As a journalist or news organisation do you:

A - investigate this, and upon confirming it is bullshit, call city out on it.
B - unquestionaly report this Chelsea development like good little lapdogs.

Think we'd be better off insisting on a cash-only deal. Keep Mhiki for the rest of the season - if he doesn't get his act together, sell him for proper money in the summer.

You’re worth what somebody will pay for you. Think we’d find it very hard to find someone willing to pay £35m plus his obscene wages tbh.
