It’s not exactly a surprise he’s going to be sacked after the final

If they had decided to keep him in charge next season then they would announce it to strengthen his position heading into the final
The only reason not to announce it before the final is that they are going to sack him but want to keep the players honest and not weaken ETH’s position for the final against city

Well that’s the option we hope isn’t in play as it wouldn’t reflect well on the new football operation’s decision making process

I highly doubt the result of the cup final will play into INEOS's long term thinking.
