Manchester United have played down a website error that prematurely added target Mesut Ozil to the club's squad profiles.

Speculation has linked the 21-year-old with a move to Old Trafford ever since his stellar performances for Germany in the World Cup.

It is not known if the profile appeared as a result of the site being hacked, and the club have dismissed it as a technical glitch.
