We've been protesting at Old Trafford for years - walk out normally starts about 81 minutes.

The only protest that really works is non attendance. And you have to give credit to city fans who have single handedly been the most effective with their protest over many years now.

Buying a season ticket and then not attending is a bit wtf when you're dealing with a group like the glazers who will only take note when revenues start to fall.

What I'd like to see fans do is step up a protest to introduce safe standing and then for that to be offered at really low prices to encourage young people back in and hopefully an atmosphere again.

Be interesting to see attendances for the Europa matches at our place btw.

Their local match-going support welcomed both sets of Americans. That is a fact.

Funny how discontent like this only ever emanates from them when they are doing utter shit. Masters of diversionary measures these @#%&!s.

They weren't complaining when they were challenging for the title two seasons ago, and definately weren't complaining when Klopp came in, and they were falling over themselves telling the league they may as well just give up. They're a bunch of @#%&!s and I hope every one of them is led to bankruptcy.

Fair play to the mickeys for the protest, but I fear they are pissing in the wind

Surely the ticket pricing is simple capitalist economics....charge the maximum for the product which the customer is willing to pay.....this might not be to the liking of Tommy scouser from kirby, but the Norwegian supporters branch will happily pay £77 for the anfield experience....and there's the market

Football has become a business, and this is the price we pay

This isn't strictly about the yanks though as far as I can tell. It's about ticket prices. Something that effects most people who attend, or at least want to attend games.

I thought they were crying about the local vermin being priced out for tourists as well? It's hard to keep up with the whinging £#%&!ers to be honest.

Disgraceful, you may as well piss on the hillsborogh memorial ( despite the fact the kop stand for the whole game)

Basically they're saying they'd be happy to pay £78 for a ticket

Regardless of the efficacy of this or that 'protest' premiership football as a community activity is well and truly £#%&!ed and has been for many a year. The big clubs are nothing more then franchises with no connection to or real interest in the communities where they originate from, it just customers, revenue opportunities and tv rights.

They stole our game.

Agreed

Clubs like city, and to a lesser degree United, make a big deal about links with the local community, but the bottom line is revenue and profit...and a £77 ticket sold to Sebastian from Chelmsford gives a greater yield than a £10 ticket sold to Jordan from gorton

Good debate. Will provide a Vibrante "real footy fan" status report from the American Express box at "The Bridge" later. Keep it real guys.

Whatever the reasons, they managed (not for the first time) to create unity amongst their support around one issue, and it had an effect. Something United fans utterly failed to do in 2005, as most of those advocating something similar were met with howls of derision.

They've had plenty of practice.

Why do it at a pointless clash at home to Sunderland when they've got a cup final in a couple of weeks? didn't see them moaning a couple of years back when prices were still high...oh they were at the top...

They didn't walk out over prices, they walked out because they're £#%&!ing shit.

Nah they walked out because they're massively self-important. Being seen to do something is more important than actually doing it.

£#%&!ing £#%&!ers the lot of them.

"Always the victims".

Best reduce the prices though, we can't have them storming the gates like they did with those CL finals a couple years back.

Will achieve about as much as wearing a green and yellow jesters hat at OT.

If you don't want to pay the prices, don't £#%&!ing go.
