Talkshite saying no offer accepted and no further talks planned.

I think this is all a ruse to flush out Chelsea and get Madrid to budge on Morata.

Either that or nobody really has a £#%&!ing clue.

Don't see why. They've signed plenty of most of their fans accepted lukaku going a while ago. Would make more sense for them to announce Rooney after lukaku to soften the blow.

Six new signings and £75m in the bank. They'll be happy enough.

He's big and he's black. That's about where the similarities end.

Drogba was a much better player. He could do the old battering ram approach but he could hold the ball up, bring others into play and pass it around. His control was superb and his movement was great. Lampard owes him a lot because he created a lot of space for him.

But above all, Drogba was a winner.

Lukaku has a quick turn of pace, a lot of power and he can finish. Unfortunately he has an awful touch and comes across as a lazy bastard.

Stick to EU talk.

Just because he's big and black doesn't make him Drogba.

Drogba was exceptional technically, whereas Lukaku struggles to trap a ball.

Easy to point out Drogba's qualities in hindsight after several years at the top..... but he arrived at 24 to lots of people questioning whether he'd cut it in the Premier League.

The first couple of years, he still had people calling him nothing more than a bully. He was never revered as someone of amazing technical ability.

They're not the same, but there's some comparisons to be made.

It's nothing to do with being 'big and black'. Lukaku fits the bill for most mourinho strikers for most places he's been: comparisons could be drawn with Drogba, Milito, Costa, Zlatan. A strong focal point.

Whether or not he's good enough is another matter, but it certainly makes sense.

Exceptional technically and Drogba are not something I expect to find in the same sentence
He's was fine technically but nothing more

Drogba was playing in the French 2nd division at big Rom's age. More to come from him if he's coached well.

Exactly. I think we're rewriting history a bit here. Drogba was better than he was given credit for, but was by and large a relentless bully. Appreciated more when he was older, but certainly not in his early Chelsea years.

certainly no more question marks over lukaku at 24 than there was over Drogba at 24.

Like when United softened the blow of Ronaldo leaving with the signings of Owen, Valencia and Obertan?
