There's been a few late goals but I don't think there's a decent side out there & certainly no 'Great' players.

Hopefully it'll kick on once it gets to the knock-outs.

Only been 3 shot games so far and yes that involved big teams.....

I've only missed 2 games....

Been some great goals, some top moments...

Enjoyed it.

When I was a kid that would have crashed down off the underside of the bar & bounced up into the roof of a big Mexico86 sized net.

Ronaldo indisputable Club great, never seen him 'turn up' at a tournament though.
The other 3, unquestionably. But they've got a combined age of about 200.

I'd like a fresh slate with a few new names to watch out for.
Rashford looked good the other day

He was brilliant in 2004 and 2006 IIRC. Different player then though.

ronaldo plays for portugal. he's helped them to the final of the euro 2004, and the semis of the 2006 world cup, knocking england out in both tournaments...

they reached the knock-outs of euro 08, world cup 10 and euro 12 losing to germany and then spain twice...

he's portugal's record goalscoer with 58 goals. he has 3 international hat-tricks, has scored in 6 different major championship finals, he has scored 20 goals in euro qualifiers and 15 in world cup qualifiers.

he would walk into literally any international team of the last decade and if he represented one of the big european nations - italy, spain, germany, england - he'd have won at least one trophy.

Exactly, not one trophy and not even remotely close to winning one either.

ronaldo didn't actually play for them.

whatevs anyway, i don't need your approval

england needed a proper world class attacker to make the difference. stick terry, cole, and one of lampard or gerrard with that lot and it would have been competing for trophies. and especially if that was ronaldo, who bounced off rooney so well.

Pretty blatant injury time penalty the Swiss should have had been brushed under the carpet then?

No pal, they talked about it on the BBC post match and showed various replays of it. All agreed it should have been a pen.
