A defeat tomorrow and Top 4 is gone.. hundreds of millions spent and we are hanging around 5th or 6th place like a bad smell, and yet we get so called football sages on Fred saying that this is all part of the masterplan, that the work behind the scenes will make us great again.. Van Gaal for all the promise had been a disaster.., he has an excuse for every defeat and bad performance, nothing bad has been his fault, but any sort of success has been down to him..

Against all odds, going off the season thus far.

I'm not fussed tbh. Do well, he stays and buys some decent players, proves us all wrong, fine. Do shit, we get Mourinho and buy some decent players, fine.

By 'hold our distance', I assume you mean 'win'

So win tomorrow.

And then at Spurs.

And then keep winning.

So basically, win a loads of games, which we aren't capable of doing.

Good stuff.

We will be further adrift in a few weeks, not closer.

We're behind, we have tougher fixtures and we're wildly inconsistent. Nothing other than blind optimism to think we'll genuinely finish fourth.

Getting tired of van gaal claiming we're aiming for two or three places higher than we are every time we get one solitary win.

We need to show form that this side simply hasn't suggested it can produce.

What we do know is that we £#%&! up easy fixtures, that every game is a struggle and that we are prone to #@&%! ups.

More like the state of Van Gaal.. A manager that promised so much and delivered shit on a stick football.. We are one of the lowest scoring teams kn the league, went months without scoring a first half goal at home, yet this is all part of the plan. Leicester City got a new manager last summer and are on the verge of winning the league, we give some crack-pot Dutchman unlimited funds and the freedom to do as he wants and look where we are..

Everton will be tricky but they are poor defensively and they play in an open style that Utd under LVG have generally looked good against. Difficult game away to Spurs then 3 home games in a row against Villa, Palace and Leicester. if we were in the title race our run in from now would be considered favourable.

Who knows though, today might be the start of the mythical City run that has been forecast for the last 2 years.

We have won three of our last four games. The one we didn't we played with ten men.

Our fixtures are decent after next weekend, relative to the other teams' fixtures. Now and next week not when we were likely to make up points.

Putting the doom to one side for a moment I see Klopp has thus far guided the mighty redmen to tenth place in the table

Hope they get a £#%&!ing shoeing this evening to keep them there.

Yeah, he is. Nobody on here absolves LvG of all blame but to even look past him for some things, or heaven forbid look positively at anything has become not only read as defending LvG, but seems to provoke another debate on whether he should be sacked. It's incredibly dull. But as I said, bitching and moaning becomes habitual. No room for anything else it seems.

Yep. Three of the last four. So still a defeat in there.

Also, we're already on three out of four. Prior form suggests a £#%&! up is right around the corner.

Last week was encouraging and a great moment, but history tells us it'll be another false dawn. To make a serious charge for top four, we need to maintain this form, with wins at Spurs and West ham to take it something 6 wins from 8. Something this team hasn't done all season. I see no real reason to think it will suddenly just happen.

A defeat almost certainly because we played with ten men. Oh I forgot, that was a point dismissed at the time. We'd have definitely lost anyway iirc.

Have we caught Leicester yet?

Yep, like I said though, it's Doom-laden, bitchy - whatever you wanna call it, but it's not wrong.

You can still be a disaster and get one or two things right. He's not wrong about the football, he's not wrong about the disappointment.

He's no more a 'state' for suggesting that than you are for suggesting we might win 6 out of next 7 games.

As mentioned by someone on the thread, city are flat track bullies. Opposite to us really. They go to Chelsea, Southampton and play Arsenal. Those the types of games they would appear more likely to £#%&! up. Hopefully that Palace equaliser bursts some bubbles.
