Default Jaap Stam

My 17 year old son just came down for a discussion about best centre-back pairing post the Villa result. I went on a Jaap (favourite) explanation and found this.

Thought it worth a post. £#%&!ing loved him.

had the lot. The most dominant centre back we've ever had on his day.

Agreed, was trying to discuss current £#%&!ers with my, admittedly short-changed youngest, and this was my explanation.

Also the eyebrow vid.

Why can't they be like they used to? Granted some, now, seem to be.....

Never got to use his new kitchen

Best defender I’ve ever seen.

Can’t find it but there’s a belting video when he was still in Holland, with a player who was niggling him all game until he’d had enough and got him in a headlock and dragged him over to the ref, pointing at the player’s head, indicating “can you do something about this @#%&!? A yellow, at least would be nice “

At least it will give him the confidence that he too, can be a footballer

On Stam, that was a massive fergle #@&%! up that could and should have been sorted behind closed doors in five minutes and he would have spent the rest of his career at utd, he was gutted to leave.

Modelled myself on Martun B, went pretty far but had nothing like his skill so nothing came of it. My favourite player from that period, guy had everything.

Loved playing up front and was decent. Two touch target man and all that.

Saw Buchan and gave up that stellar future to try and emulate the Fonz.
Never got too tight, let them have the first touch, the second onwards till I passed it were all mine.

As anyone who will ever make that switch will tell you… it’s harder to play in defence.

Definitely.

Playing up front you only have to get it right once. In defence, you have to get it right every time.

Should have retired at Utd. An absolute colossus, a one man defence. A £#%&! up Fergie should never be allowed to forget about. There's a sit-down interview on bein sports doing the rounds at the moment where he speaks of his career. Can only find a snippet, love the speccy look

Didn’t Henning Berg make a last ditch stop in that match? Thought that was Zamorano, too.

Yep. That was Colonnese. (remember Beckham giving him stick in the second leg about his hair cut just before Scholes scored)

Schmeichel made that star fish safe from Zamorano's lose range header. Incredible save to be fair.

Obviously got it mixed up. Thought it was Zammers

Remember the save from Schmikes, alright

Think we underestimated Inter and did well to come through
