A 45k wage rise and he's only played a single game. His agent has done well there.

major achievement for both clubs to be so accomplished when they play in a league where the big two @#%&! clubs suck all the money out of it. that bilboa team comes from a population pool of under 3 million, unbelievable.

Honestly fear for the kid, mentally #@&%!ed, 19 years old, surrounded by druggies with guns , goes from 500 quid a week to £15k, then to £60k all in the space of 6 months.

Smart money will be on him for 2013 dead pool nftoverdose.

Agreed. Not only that, but both sides insistence on playing football and competing for possession of the ball. Atleti were set up to counter attack, but they didn't just abandon 90% of the pitch to their opponent. It's why I prefer La Liga, as a neutral. Right across the league, the fans insist on their teams playing attacking football. Valencia will finish 3rd this season, just like last, despite the huge financial problems in recent times and the sale of some quality players. Yet the supporters have forced the club to sack the manager Emery, mainly because the football has been shit to watch. I admire that.

A Scouser just rang up Sky and said Andy Carroll should be England's first-choice striker at Euro 2012.

Another triumph from Magic...

What? It was a genuine call?!

Agreed.

Feel sorry for Bilbao tonight. I find it weird that people watching the money-wrecked state that is modern football don't appreciate what a fantastic story Bielsa and Bilbao has been. It would have been great to see it rewarded with a trophy, especially as it may well have been their only chance. Why anyone would prefer that circus act of a club from Madrid over them tonight is hard to imagine.
