Cool

Basically, if you'd have offered them 3rd at the start of the season, they'd have bitten your hand off.

Ah yes this is where they do their back-pedalling and start revising their expectations down

Out of the 3 teams at the top of the league they were always going to be the ones that came unstuck. The sheer amount of scabby late goals they were getting couldn't carry on forever.

This Liverpool side aren't a patch on the one they had 4 years ago, all piss and vinegar by comparison.

Once Van Dijk decides he's had enough they're going to be in big trouble.

Terrible to be laughing at them. Third is a great result for them, especially when you consider that other teams bought players last summer. Plus, if you jiggle how and when the results occurred, you can make it that they had a great title charge at the end of the season, when they were only 6th or 7th mid season.

I’ve yet to meet a sane one.

if they'd lost their first 4 games, drawn the next 8, they'd be on 22 game win streak having gone from bottom to third

There was something about him promoting The Sun which sent them all berserk recently was there not?

Because, obviously being a 17 year old darts player, he should clearly have a deep understanding of how a particular newspaper is viewed in a city he neither comes from nor resides in.

£#%&!ing weirdos.

Carragher was pulling at that thread last night too. Banging on about the expectation of being title contenders when this Archie @#%&! succeeds Klopp, but later suggesting that this Liverpool team has ‘overachieved’

They do it in general too. All their players are the BESTEST EVER IN THE PL, but apparently they can’t compete with city on a shoestring budget

They’re full of shit

A bit off topic, but he’s just come back from 5-2 after getting loads from the crowd… he’s giving plenty back. The kid is box office. Flabby box office.

State of these lot.

Corruption thread on rawk -

Incredible that people think there isn't some kind of agenda! I mean, there's unequivocal proof based on some of the staggering decisions that have gone against us.
Quote:
There were several 50/50s on the edge of ours and their penalty areas.  They got the free kicks in dangerous positions and we didn't.  Standard stuff.

Contact on Cody = no pen.  Havertz creates his own contact = pen.

All these are subjective decisions but it's becoming increasingly obvious that PGMOL will have had a big say in who does and doesn't win the prem. Again.

Not being funny, but you'd have to be £#%&!ing thick to not have noticed how bent the league has been for decades now. Easily the most bent league the world has ever seen. Absolute £#%&!ing joke.

Yep. It’s a large part of why I’m stepping away from the game after this season. I can’t keep on getting stressed by these cheating, gaslighting @#%&!s.
Funny how this guy is stepping away the moment Klopp resigns… almost like he knows they’re destined for mediocrity again.

Quote:
Unbelievable. Just watched MOTD2 for our game. Commentator said Brooks on VAR said Gakpo pen wasn't given as "a very exaggerated fall that was out of sync with the standing foot".

Funny how that never applies to the Mancs or Arsenal.
Talking about Ferguson here -

Quote:
The state of PGMOL is his legacy. Corruption was going on in plain sight with him. United seasons have still been inflated by refs since he left (i.e. finishing 2nd one year with a shit team that got a penalty every week) but they've been shit anyway. City have also corrupted refs, whether by bribes of overseas trips or more sinister.

VAR is an added cheater's charter that wasn't there in Fergie's era.
Quote:
When you combine the shitty decisions we get with the "lucky" calls our competitors get - even accounting for the smattering of decisions in between that supposedly "even things up" - it's little wonder even the best mentality can crack.

Sad truth is, our competitors don't have to be mentality monsters.
From their Klopp thread -

Argh £#%&! its really starting to hit me that he's leaving soon.

It is comforting to know we once had him, we will always remember him and he won the lot. Without cheating.

Always in our hearts Jürgen.

Just a pure legend, Klopp!!

United are in an absolute state, languishing in mid table yet their first thought is to start cry arsing about penalties we've supposedly got.

What in the £#%&! are they on about?

We've had 7 penalties awarded this season compared to Liverpool's 9.

They've had more pens at old trafford in the last 10 years that we've had at Anfield in the last 40.

Liverpool have had 1 single penalty awarded against them this season. We've conceded 7. And that's just in the league.

I hate to break it to you Liverpool fans, but United aren't the big bad boogeyman any more, Alex Ferguson is an 80 year old man who retired 11 years ago and spends his days snoozing in his armchair and reading the racing post ffs

Why is it they can never just admit they haven't been good enough. Why do they desperately need to pretend everything is corrupt in order to comfort themselves? It's astounding behaviour tbh.

If they want to point their venom at anyone it should be the team who have actually cheated and that's the one about to win 4 titles in a row in plain sight of everyone. Waltzing across the finish line thumbing their noses at the authorities all the way. But then that seems to be the way with Man City, nobody, not even the teams who they are directly taking trophies away from, seem to want to be annoyed about their prolific history of fiddling the books.

Instead Liverpool fans would rather moan that United won the league 25 years ago with less points than they've got. Idiots.

The answer is right there in the question: much easier to suggest foul play than admit you’re not good enough.

They’ve spent all season bigging this team up and the last ten years building up Klopp’s ‘dynasty’.

As the season draws to a close, the reality is once again setting in that their season is underwhelming and another footnote to City’s success

They’ve gone from a potential quadruple (don’t mention there’s no CL in that though) to Klopp’s last season being exactly like Ten Hag’s first

They’re already rewriting the season: carragher and co already suggesting that they’ve overachieved this season and they’d have taken this in August. Not quite the piss and vinegar of a few weeks back, eh lads?

Klopp is an excellent manager. They would have won more were it not for City. But aunties and dicks and uncles. City are there and they are better and the feature of the last few years isn’t some rivalry between them: it’s city being on top and them sometimes coming second (with lower placed finishes more frequent than not)

Even “we won the lot” suggests some kind of dominance. They have to say that to themselves. They have to cry corruption and they have to keep Klopp aloft as this God-like figure because they know, deep down, that this era was their best for 30 years and it still wasn’t enough to dominate

Yep. Every club’s fans think they’re hard done by and the refs have it in for them. I don’t know of any Darlington fans who think the premier league have it in for Unai Emery

Refs and VAR are absolutely £#%&!, not good enough. Some refs are swayed by which team they're reffing, some aren't - imo.

I don't think there's a conspiracy anywhere but can you remember the last "WTF?!" decision City had against them? Every team has incidences of shocking decisions gone against them and every team in the league thinks that VAR and the refs have got it in for them, but other teams get away with murder. Klopp has perfected calling out referees and bad decisions and then getting rewarded in the matches immediately after - which baffles me.why EtH says absolutely £#%&! all when we suffer.
