Football Fergie

Pretty good manager, with the benefit of hindsight, wasn't he?

Even in his latter years when certain aspects of his management fell below his exceptional standards, he was still one of a kind.

We were definitely spoiled by him I think.

He was the greatest manager in history.

he left at the right time though imo.

The biggest £#%&! up was allowing him to leave along with Gill at the same time and then letting him pick his successor.

I still can't believe in a summer when Mourinho, Ancelotti and Guardiola changed jobs we ended up with Moyes. God almighty.

Yup.

All during the fawning over Wenger, Mourinho and Fraudiola, it never once crossed my mind that he was anything but the master.

Not infallible, but pretty £#%&!ing close.

the master. events since his retirement have only confirmed it.

he kept us competitive at the top of the league and in virtually all competitions over more than two decades, due to his constant ability to evolve and reinvent. don't think anyone who stepped to him in that time even came close to anything similar. doubt we'll see his like again tbh.

I was unsure for the first 12 titles but the 13th convinced me. Should have done better in Europe though.

Just shows the low expectations people have in Britain these days. He'd be considered a failure in most other countries and rightly so

The guy is a ledge

We beat Arsenal with a midfield consisting of the Da Silva twins ffs

Don't know how he squeezed trophies out of such dross at times, miss him

Of all the players who came and went are were worshipped none of them held a candle to the big man himself. What I'd give for a youthful raging Fergie at the helm all over again

I remember around 2004 and 2005 there was a lot of talk about Mourinho and Benitez being the new "kings" so to speak.

Fergie upped his game and won the wars. Wenger did not

The best

Now one of those "kings" is a tired old has-been who can't even beat Wenger any more. And the other one is managing Newcastle.

2 European Cups, 2 Cup Winners Cups and 2 other European Cup finals is as good a record as anyone, only Paisley and Ancelotti have won 3 European Cups.

I obviously wasn't interacting with you 13 years ago but, did you say that about Fergie back in 2004/2005/2006?

Because many did
