Pretty good manager, with the benefit of hindsight, wasn't he?
Even in his latter years when certain aspects of his management fell below his exceptional standards, he was still one of a kind. We were definitely spoiled by him I think. |

He was the greatest manager in history.
he left at the right time though imo. The biggest £#%&! up was allowing him to leave along with Gill at the same time and then letting him pick his successor. I still can't believe in a summer when Mourinho, Ancelotti and Guardiola changed jobs we ended up with Moyes. God almighty. |

the master. events since his retirement have only confirmed it.
he kept us competitive at the top of the league and in virtually all competitions over more than two decades, due to his constant ability to evolve and reinvent. don't think anyone who stepped to him in that time even came close to anything similar. doubt we'll see his like again tbh. |
