Why the hell do Arsenal let the contracts of their top players go all the way down to the final year, without extending them or selling the player?

They do it all the time. They bleat on about their stadium costs, but maybe if they managed the contracts a bit better, they wouldn't lose their best players on the cheap and have more money to re-invest.

Always stuck me as a fairweather highlights package don. Clearly talented but when you need consistency and the shit hits the fan he can be found sulking about something.

Tbf last season he was sulking about his team mates not trying hard enough or being good enough which is ok with me.

Would be concerned with burnout when it comes to Sanchez, has been playing every summer for years, always seems to be dealing with a knock, still only 28 but he could be a candidate for a Van Persie style drop off.

This is true. He's usually pretty ineffective for the first month or so.
