Christmas and New Year has typically been where the big sides have run away with it (especially City, just quietly winning 12 games in a row), so I can’t see the World Cup doing them any favours. Disruption doesn’t help. Like a preseason, it could take them a while to get going. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting this because I have any notions that United will catch, but It’s actually refreshing to see teams dropping points and nice to think someone might not get 100 £#%&!ing points again.

Me neither. The whistle went. Players stopped. The villa player scored. A wrong offside call, that's all.

I think he was wrong-footed. more of an argument the defenders stopped, but.... legit to criticise the ref and feel robbed.

Shot was deflected no way he was saving it.

Would the shot have ended up deflecting into the top corner if the defender didn't stop?

Probably not.
