welbeck, macheda, eckersley, tosic, gibson and possebon all clearly have the ability to succeed at united. so did eagles, simpson, bardsley and richardson. the question is whether they have the intelligence to learn how to apply that talent and the character to meet the ever increasing expectations and pressures that will be on them. some do (o'shea, evans, fletcher, brown) and some don't (richardson, eagles, countless others).

it's not about talent for those lads. it's about who they are and if they've got what it takes in their heads and their hearts. it will help them a lot that they're in a group coming through rather than just being one or two in with a chance. none of them will feel like a big star way ahead of the rest and that is important.
