There was one year in the 80's or 90 that they lost 1 game before Christmas and were on a very good run. Might have been that year.

Didn't they beat Palace 9-0 at the beginning of the season too? (Not that that's reason enough)

No, that was their '88 side, which was a really good one tbf. 1990 was pretty shite.

I thought it was their 1990 side. Did they not beat Palace 9 in the same season they lost to them in the semi final

Sorry, yes that was the 9-0 side but barring that they weren't very impressive
