One thing Clevz does well is quick passing, and if he's got highly technical players like Mata, Kagawa and Januzaj around him, instead of shit@#%&!s like Young and Valencia, then we'll see an improvement IMO. My biggest concern with a front four of Januzaj, Mata, Kagawa and Rooney, is that we may get outnumbered and outmuscled in midfield when we don't have the ball. When Rooney plays off the striker he can drop deep and make up the numbers, as well as adding that physical presence to the midfield. However, when Rooney is the 9 then we're relying on somebody else dropping deep. That makes me think that Valencia gets picked, or Rooney goes behind Welbeck (until Van Persie is fit) with Mata and Januzaj flanking. I'd rather see Mata as the 10, with Valencia on the bench/at another club. |
