No club seems to be knocking at his door but was expecting the biggest job in football to be handed to him by default
After his 'punditry' during the World cup I'm surprised they've offered him a job tbh. Basic 'run your socks off' type bollox.

It's understood Giggs has already turned down offers to manage in the Championship while League One Fleetwood were also keen to hire him before they appointed Uwe Rosler to the post.
What's he expecting?

He's going to hang about like a grisly spectre waiting for the first PL head to roll isn't he

I do not think there is anything wrong with him waiting for the right position. Chooses the wrong one and it goes badly and he will be written off as a manager, look at Neville.

Season about to start and we have 2 threads bumped with so much bitterness towards club legends

Fair but the counter argument is if he did get offers, he'd have had this summer to bring in players, and more importantly has the whole season ahead. A good start would be a catalyst whereas by the time sackings come he'll have offers from clubs doing shite.

True. A year away from the game might not be a bad thing for him. Does he really want to be a manager or does he simply know nothing else?
