Default €90m transfer budget for January...

Quote:
Manchester United have given Jose Mourinho the green light for important mid-season improvements to a squad competing on four fronts for silverware.

A January transfer budget “in the region of €90million” is an endorsement of the managers achievement in leading United to two major trophies in his first season at the club and United’s strongest start to an English Premier League campaign since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.

The Old Trafford board’s support for Mourinho’s efforts to prevent a Manchester City squad enriched by unprecedented spending on transfer fees and salaries from taking the title is also seen as an indication that it will extend the 54-year-old’s contract as manager.

Discussions are understood to have taken place between the club and Mourinho’s agent on renewing a deal that expires in 2019.

Of more importance to the Portuguese coach is accelerating the structural improvement of a squad that enters this weekend’s Manchester derby eight points behind City despite scoring 35 times in 15 Premier League fixtures and posting the division’s best defensive record.

Isn't there a certain French forward playing in Spain with a release clause in the region of €90m...

Diego Costa is also free to play for them in January.

They also crashed out of the Champions League, too.

On.

Although not arsed if we don't get him.

Ozil and Rose?

Would have to be more than 90m euros for us to get a midfielder as well unless someone is sold.

90m on Griezman in Jan

Tap Ozil and Goretzka (sp) up for free transfers in the summer

30-50m on a left back in the summer

Job done

As long as it's a slap that's fine..

Goretzka should be priority. Or some other young, energetic midfielder with a bit of bite, someone to replace the void that is Herrera.

Not arsed about Griezmann tbh.

Savic looked good the other night against Sampdoria.

The Lazio lad? We were watching him apparently

Definitely need some young blood in that midfield, and options, desperately..

No high level player moves in January

If we sign anyone (and I don't think we will) it will be a squad player

Goretzka.

I watch Schalke games every week on BT and have followed his career closely.

What a prospect
