The Ferguson teams were qualitatively different. Even the midfieldless grinders of his latter years weren't simply spineless @#%&! flattering to deceive. They used to be called the donut on here. It was a famously poor midfield. With young on the left, Valencia on the right, and nani, the king of weaklings filling in.
