Cash+Hernandez for Diego Costa! (Yes I know he's a @#%&!,but he could be our @#%&!) If (when) Rooney £#%&!s off in the summer, Costa would be a top player for us.

Welbeck is being asked to about 3 £#%&!ing jobs at once. No. 10, Midfield, Goalscorer, run the flanks etc.. the poor bloke is all over the place. If Mourinho had him he'd be £#%&!ing brilliant.

People are dreaming if they think he'd score 20+ away from OT with a regular run blah blah blah. He isn't that good of a player sadly. He's a coward for not taking a pen.

He will score goals wherever he goes, he is a natural poacher but at the top clubs that is not enough. Has to be able to contribute in general play, hold the ball up under pressure, drop off and provide a passing option.

He surprised a lot of people in 2010/11 but he has not improved enough since.

A lot of players thinking about the World Cup at this stage I imagine, has to be a major reason behind the Mata move.

true but it's not like Hernandez was gonna miss out on the Mexico squad given his scoring record for his country, if he goes I hope we have another striker lined up

He is their star player, wants to go the World Cup in the best possible condition, though ironically being fresh and having played relatively few games could work just as well in stifling heat against jaded sides.

With Mata coming in there surely has to be a move towards 1 up front, Mata with a free role behind, no point signing him and then sticking him on the wing, lacks the pace for that role and limits his passing options, which is his great strength. 3 strikers should be enough in that scenario.

yeah but one of those 'strikers' is one of the worst finishers we've ever had

Very interesting to see what the plan is there. Can you fit van Persie, Rooney and Mata into a balanced team? I doubt it myself, at least not without putting Rooney wide. Does rather increase my suspicion that one of van Persie or Rooney will be leaving in the summer.

The Rooney positional puzzle has to be resolved one way or another as well. With Van Persie, or another top rank striker in the squad the temptation is to play Rooney off that player, and while it has had some success no-one who has watched Rooney over an extended period can still believe he is a natural 10. Does he have the discipline to go back up front and play that lone striker role? It has been tried a few times this season, normally with Kagawa behind and Rooney has continually dropped too deep.

A more imaginative manager than Moyes would allow greater optimism.

The problem is, can we really afford to get rid of Rooney? Not only is he one of the team's few major goal threats, he's also the only really strong back-up we have for a player, van Persie, who will be 31 years old this summer and who is historically injury prone. And Rooney can, at least, play with van Persie, either as a second striker or, when required, in any number of other positions, even if this is less than ideal. You'd be hard-pressed to find a replacement with anything like that positional flexibility. And what pure number 9 of quality is going to come to sit on the bench? van Persie certainly won't be happy as a regular sub either.

For all his so called mumblings about not getting a starting place in the team he seems to make a right arse of it when given the chance .
He's a good attacking option coming off the bench but that's as good as it gets .

He's a top young player that has been £#%&!ed about all over the show and slagged to high heaven by the brainless £#%&!ing mongs in United's support (Hi Kev) for doing what's asked of him. He is the £#%&!ing least of United's problems, fact.

Moyes is a #@&%!.
