Default Van Persie to sign

Everyone assumes he's going to City.

If it were going to cost 22-25m in transfer money and close to 200k per week to get him, would it be worth it?

Sorry to sound a bit of a killjoy but it really isn't worth debating this, surely?

If he signs for United we will get 60 games out of him over the next 4 years.

Why not? Top strikers go for 30/50m this would be closer to 20.

Berbs/Anderson/Owen off payroll, must be close to 200k.

Honestly don't want him

Although that £#%&!er MEN sports editor has just been on Talksport dismissing us out of hand as if we are Watford or summat so it would raise a smile just for that if we did.

He was so openly biased to ci-ehhhhh that one of the presenters stopped him mid sentence and laughed at him for being so :£#%&!er:

That's also a factor. Plus he was unimpressive during the Euro's.

But RVP and Aguero up front for the bitters?

Rooney's got a better goalscoring record than him over the last few years. He's one ankle injury away from being finished. We have bigger needs.

I bet if they sign him they score pretty much the same number of goals as a team.

Sooner that than Tevez and Aguero I think. Then Tevez and/or Aguero booting off 'cause they're not in the side everygame... throw in that @#%&! Balotelli and you've got a right shitstorm with Van Rapist demanding to start all the time aswell. £#%&! 'em, let them have him. We don't really need him as much as we do a midfielder.

Which probably means Freggie will go all out to get him.

And it would be funny to see Balotelli, Tevez and Dzecko return to pre season only to find they are further down the pecking order.

it would only make sense as a replacement for rooney and given rvp's injury record and age that would be a pretty stupid thing to do unless rooney himself wants out.

welbeck's development should be a priority imo. in a couple of years he'll be one of the best forwards in europe if his development isn't hindered.

Football has become much more 'bird in the hand' though. Especially coming off of a potless season and the manager with one or two seasons left. Fergie will not want to go out a loser nqat.

This £#%&!er's had a single injury free season in 8 years and now we're all supposed to fall over ourselves and give him 200k a week and Arsenal £20m? It's £#%&!ing laughable.

i think it's nailed on he's going to city.

he's too injury prone imo, but we couldn't afford him anyway.

There will be speculation though, so just putting it out there.

He is a top striker and at the sort of transfer fee we would see as a bargain.

If a proper club came in for him I reckon he'd be willing to go for less than the ludicrous wages City are offering.

Then again he may just be a money grasping @#%&! and that's all he's really after.
