i reckon we have allowed him to reach his full potential, it's just that his inconsistency hasn't always been at times when the rest of the side can carry him - it's a team game, after all.

during his time though United has enjoyed the most successful period in its entire history, so...

that's a matter of opinion but wasn't my point either way

if people think rooney would've been better if he'd been at another club, or that United could've done any better (one-off results notwithstanding) while he's been here, then I think the context of our success since 2004 helps
