Pink Final
Feeling a little nostagiac.
£#%&!in murky and miserable out there. Getting home from the match, absolutely frozen and drenched. Even colder and wetter if we hadnt won. Priority was to get the scarf off and in position for it to dry before its next appearance. Get changed, have whatever the old lady had sorted for tea. Get on the floor in front of the fire with the pink. Better when we had won and were this weeks centre pages. Occasional head up at the tele. Hoping to hang it out til MOTD. Predicting the rest of the seasons fixtures and seeking out a way we could close that £#%&! gap that we were behind the scouse @#%&!s/Leeds/Derby Had the season ran the way I had predicted, we were champions every week I may have even updated my Shoot league ladders before lockdown |

Loved the pink
Used to be a queue outside the newsagents about 6 bells waiting for the MEN van to drop it off Always sold more if United won Paperboy got first lot to flog in the community pub, the labour club and the gardeners Spot the ball Face in the crowd Probably the best days of my life |

Having been away from Manchester since the late 80s it's this sort of thing that I think of when I look back; along with meat pies with juice that burns your hands and the Radcliffe Times every Thursday.
I've been back to Radcliffe a couple of times recently and it's nothing like I remember it. |
