It's an brilliant piece.

Think back to us signing Sturridge. How many said he was arrogant or had an attitude problem?
Many posters here suggested he did.
Why?

Because he was black.

As Barnes suggests, this isn't conscious racism, it is born of media stereotypes and myths.
Indeed we find Sturridge to have a fine fine attitude and be much too intelligent to be a footballer (surely!).
If only this scouser was as immune to stereotypes as he thinks.

Newcastle fans don't remember him with any fondness either.

One of the "old boys" Dogleash brought there, he used to swan around the place in his Rolls Royce (or whatever it was) and then put in zero effort on either the training ground or the pitch.

The way KING KENNY ruined that club in just a few years was pretty impressive, tbh

think selling cole and buying asprilla had a bigger part in that tbh

they lost their identity and then they lost their confidence and then they lost the title - asprilla showing them all up in training probably didn't help.

dalglish got them into the CL ffs. they then beat barcelona at home (asprilla) only to have to play the return game in an empty stadium - their biggest game for years and there was no-one there

C'mon though, some of his signings there (even leaving out his cronies)? Andersson, Des Hamilton, and most of all Guivarch

newcastle were a joke when he arrived is all i'm saying

dalglish was shit there, but he rescued that 96/97 season

if you remember, they'd paid a record fee for shearer but from almost right after their fortunate and corrupt victory over us they went to shit, thinking they'd £#%&!ing made it. their title chances were finished by xmas and keegan soon ran off with his tail between his legs

He sold Les Ferdinand and David Ginola, and replaced them with Barnes and Rush. And Pearce

like i said, i take the point that dalglish was shit there (and at celtic and again at the vermin - he was lucky to even get blackburn into the pl when he did ffs) but he didn't spend £15m they didn't have on shearer in some deluded dick off with united and then oversee a shambles of a title challenge. If anything, Dalglish getting Newcastle into the CL was the most significant event in their sky league history - without that they'd have had to sell more than just ferdinand and ginola

He actually has a few good points hidden in there among a load of nonsensical waffle.
