Atleast he was alive long enough to see Newcastle back where they belong.

Stolen from elsewhere, brilliant...

Bobby is at a book-signing in Newcastle. Little kid gets Sir Bobby to sign his book after queuing for ages.

'Have you signed a lot of books today, Sir Bobby?'
'Oh, hundreds, son. Absolutely hundreds'

Kid walks off with his signed book, and glances down at the inscription; 'Best Wishes, Bobby Hundreds.'

Amazing. RIP Bobby Hundreds.

Fine tribute from Ferie....

The Scot said: "I was never too big or proud to ask him for advice, which he gave freely and unconditionally.

"I'm sure I am speaking for a lot of people when I say that.

"In my 23 years working in England there is not a person I would put an inch above Bobby Robson. I mourn the passing of a great friend.

"He was a wonderful individual, a tremendous football man and somebody with a passion and knowledge of the game that was unsurpassed.

"The strength and courage he showed over the past couple of years when battling against his fifth bout of cancer was indescribable.

"The world, not just the football world, will miss him.

"Let's hope it won't be long before another like him turns up because we could never get enough of them."

That sums it up nicely. Does anyone know anyone with a bad word to say about the man? Of course they don't. A truly sad day.

Rest In Peace, Sir Bobby.

Bit like Bros taking the piss out of Sinatra.

And yes, the hypocrisy over the next couple of days will be staggering. If certain newspaper editors had any soul they would be taking a long hard look at how this man was treated in the late 80's, but they don't so they won't.

Good man, top manager, a great loss to football.

RIP.

I see plenty of odious hypocrites associated with Newcastle have been crawling out of the woodwork all morning and afternoon, parading themselves on TV, mourning their 'grandfather' and 'uncle bobby'.

Freddy Sheperd in particular has some bloody neck

Remember that well. £#%&!ing disgusting what he put up with and then to take England within a penalty kick of the final and probably the cup. My hatred of the gutter press started because of that.
