RIP Sir Bobby.

Seemed like a great guy, I still think it's a joke how Newcastle treated him towards the end of his time as manager there.

A great manager.

A legend of English football.

very sad.

can't think of many football people who never had anything to do with United who i liked so much - his ipswich team of the late 70s were superb.

I remember this interview:

TV pundit (to Shola Ameobi)- "We know Sir Bobby has difficulties remembering namse at times. Does he struggle with yours?"

Shola Ameobi (giggling) - "Not really".

TV pundit - "Do you have a nickname? What does he call you?"

Shola Ameobi - "Carl Cort".

Top football man Sir Bobby.

Every player who played under him seemed to love him which says a lot. Remember after we'd played Newcastle Laurent Blanc, who had played for him at Barca running over to shake hands and hug him. True gent.
The press who will be eulogising over him tomorrow tried to destroy him as Engand boss, this despite him being cheated out of a quarter final in Mexico and losing in a semi on penalties four years later

his enthusiasm for the game was totally infectious

i remember him being asked about what he would do after he finished in the game

"Well football is the drug isn't it, i won't be able to give it up"

as someone said when he was diagnosed, all those that subjected him to that England witch hunt will be the ones leading the eulogising over the weekend

very sad day
