Playing youngsters is a risk. It means that you're probably going to have to sacrifice some results in order to give them the time they need. Van Gaal understood this, probably more than Ferguson in that respect, Mourinho has sort of come to understand it.

Guardiola won £#%&! all last season, spent a huge amount of money so he's under immense pressure to deliver this season and playing kids would jeopardise his reputation and possibly cost City results, something which he's obviously not willing to do.

Barring a freak run of results they have the league sewn up. Would be great to finally see some prospects from the academy to step in when someone is injured. All mouth when it comes to the academy and didn't the chairman even say he wanted more youth in the team?

know who he is, but his chances there are nil. at least we give some of our boys a run.

They should be made to change their name to Abu Ciddy.

Aye, I think you're right, and to be honest, I quite like the idea of all these supposed talented younger players at Citeh being on the inside of the club but all looking outside of the club.

Is that the one they spent £10m on (mentioned in a post on the other page and I was wondering who the £#%&! he was)?

Don't think they can claim that one any more than we can claim Phil Jones as an academy graduate

I think that's him, Wikipedia says this

Díaz started his career at his hometown club Málaga, before moving to Manchester City in 2015 as a 16-year-old for an initial £200,000 fee.

Multiple Fred Sage of the Year awards in my cabinet, pal.

You wouldn't even win an award for best poster with Ziggy in his name.

Fall back.
City downed tools when guardiola was announced. It’s not the first time they’ve underperformed due to managerial issues. That’s what happens when it’s a team of mercianaries where the only reason to be there is money and no additional motive because the club is incidental.

Uniteds players started playing for pride when the battle was won and they knew they wouldn’t be stuck with the manager past the end of the season. If that battle hadn’t been won, the morale would have seen us mid table.

Why? What rivalry do Mancunian united fans have with Abu Dhabi? You can’t have bragging rights when the majority don’t give a £#%&!, as evidenced by many united fans wanting them to win the league last time they won it.

Give it time. Took both busby and Fergie around 7 years before their youth systems started to show proper results.

I'm sure he'll have more than enough to shine against the assorted premier league superstars at Burnley, Leicester, Brighton and Huddersfield.

Said it in another thread, we are on for a decent points total and can improve next season but not much we can do if City hit 90 plus points again.

Expect a summer of them spending loads and pushing on again, over by xmas. Doom.

There's not much we alone can do. Us and Liverpool are the only teams that have beaten them and we only play them twice each. There's not much we can do if the other 17 teams all lay down and die against them. The rest of the league needs to step up against them and stop being such unadulterated £#%&!ing cowards.

Far too many teams in this league are just happy to tread water, play 'cat n mouse' percentage football every week in the hope of scraping a draw and guaranteeing their place at the tv money trough for next season. Nobody plays with any intent any more and rather than see City as a billion pound scalp that can be got at, they just buy into all the hype and treat the game as a free hit.
