i remember reading the stories about kanu when he was at portsmouth and supposedly in his 20s. he only trained about twice a week and had to be carried off the training ground pitch even then

there must be some blood or bone tests they can do to find out how old they really are?

There is, nearly the entire Ghanaian U17 team was binned before a youth World Cup , Nigeria have had a few dodgy squads as well,

When the home office are doing age checks on unaccompanied asylum seekers it's done by dental experts

I was once asked to find accommodation for three 15 year old afghan lads who had jumped off a lorry in Trafford park

Got to stretford nick, the desk sergeant was pissing himself..... Two of them might have passed for 20, but the third was at least 45......interpreter just kept repeating that they were all 15......ended up bunging them in a B and B in lower broughton

cut them in half and count the rings its the only way.

I can see why a player would misrepresent himself as younger than he is. But surely Lazio aren't fooled, and I don't see what good it does them for him to be listed as 17 if he really isn't. It just means there are restrictions on his contract and what they can do with him if he turns out to be shit.

you couldn't directly quantify or deduce their age, but there are ways of getting a rough idea of age, though not validated scientifically. but do we really need this here??
