Come on pal, it makes sense.

When else would he get the chance to speak to the press? The hacks aren't interested in what he's got to say unless he's breaking records

(obviously I'll get throb along in a minute to tell me it doesn't count because Rooney's played more friendlies or whatever..or the opposition isn't as good as in Bobbys day)

Like you said pal, EVERY. £#%&!ING. THREAD

Rooney has been England's record competitive goalscorer for a couple of years tbf. I think Defoe is second.

They literally have no other way of speaking to the lad....

They waited all his career for this..

It's an absolute hysteria now over the lad....

We've gone from an FA cup win that he was pivotal in, goals, match winning assist through 3 defeats (1 he didn't play in) to this !!!

yep, all perspective out the window.

There's lads on here that have been waiting for this moment.
Inhumanly patient like Michael Myers in the mental institution for 15 years.
They're going to savour every minute.

Rooney isn't in mourinho's medium/long term plans. Shaw is.

Stirs up player resentment to Rooney and Fellaini. Sure helps avoid dressing room issues when you bin them.

And it didn't find it's way into the media straight after.

Really it will come down to whether they think he's in control or not. Players and managers exchange %@#$&!ings all the time. As mentioned they even did it with Fergie. Whether they come out of it respecting his motives and approach is always the issue.

Also, who's grassing to the press already?
It's usually stretford/Rooney. Helps deflect the media focus away from his performances.

It was more that Rooney was giving interviews to most of the major papers at the time the stories emerged.

But yeah, it's more likely that it's Schweinsteiger who has got the ear of the lads at The Times

Totally agree. It's getting ridiculous now. Time he found a club that actually appreciates his stature in the game. Ungrateful @#%&!s.

Well, the good news is he'll be out for a few weeks injured, so we can all relax with Rojo starting.

But wait?...do you see? what if Darmian @ LB ?

I think you'll find that most of the people you disparage also want him to find a club that actually appreciates his stature in the game.

I agree that calling out individual players in public is a dangerous road to go down but these comments aren't nearly as pointed as some people are suggesting. Honestly, if a player can't tough-it through something so mild, there could be a deeper concern about their mental strength.

Also, we don't know what Jose is doing or how he manages. Sure, it may look confusing at times but do we really know why he's doing what he is?

Look at the reported half time row during the derby; He lets the players have a massive row. Seems chaotic but it could also be the first time he's had chance to see the entire dressing room with it's guard down. When none of the players are putting on a front to him, he may have learned a huge amount by seeing who really stands where among the players when the shit hits the fan. He may have taken the bad situation as an opportunity to get a true read on the personalities when they aren't being guarded. Then again he may not, point is, we just don't know yet. It's way too early to be waving the doom hammer.
